Guarda

GUARDA Colección de Viñedos(Vineyard Collection) is a high end wine line with a small production, as a result of long periods of investigation and examination of the best terroirs within our estates. Each wine is an accurate reflection of a special vineyard located in a micro region of Cuyo, a region selected due to its quality features.

This line is made up by the following wines:
- Guarda Blend, La Jacintana Estate, Drummond Estate, Las Bateas Estate
Is a blend 40% Malbec, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, 20% Merlot and 10% Syrah. Its grapes come from own vineyards located in Drummond, Perdriel and Agrelo. 
- Guarda Malbec DOC, Drummond Estate
This vine dates from 1906 and is located in Mayor Drummond, Luján de Cuyo, a well-known region for this variety.
- Guarda Cabernet Franc,  La Jacintana Estate
It comes from our estate in Perdriel. This plot was specially selected considering its cool region and stony soil. Grapes are fully ripe, keeping the fruit freshness, which eventually results in an elegant wine with personality.
- Guarda Cabernet Sauvignon, La Jacintana Estate
It comes from our estate in Perdriel, a historic region for the best Cabernet Sauvignon from Mendoza. Is an elegant and fresh wine, expressing the best of the vineyard.
- Guarda Chardonnay, Aguas Verdes Estate
Its high-altitude vine, in Gualtallary (Tupungato), is located near The Andes Mountains at 1350 masl.The fruit expression and minerality are expressively developed in this wine, achieving outstanding freshness and typicity.

100% Malbec
Vineyard
Luján de Cuyo – Mendoza. Planted in 1906. Altitude 850 mamsl.
Vineyard Structure/Yield
Low vine training. Surface irrigation: Cane and spur pruning. High density plantation. Average yield: 80 q/ha.
Fermentation process
Classic, in stainless steel tanks with selected yeasts, during 20 - 25 days and at a maximum temperature of 30º. The end of maceration is determined by the tasting. The Malolactic fermentation is spontaneous.
Aging
100% of the wine, 12 months in French oak barrels
Storage in bottle
Between 5 and 8 years

Tasting notes
COLOR: Deep red with burgundy highlights
AROMA: Intense aromas dominated by ripe red fruits and jams, combined with soft aromatic contribution of oak, vanilla, chocolate and smoke.
FLAVOR: Elegant in the mouth, good concentration and smoothness, with silky tannins, typical of Argentine malbec.
Pairing Suggestion
Ideal with grilled red meats or pasta with red sauces.
